Description:
1969 Volvo 1800S. Great running and driving turn key vehicle that is ready to go. Rust free, no previous damage that I am aware of. Odometer reads 13,644 and I have no idea what the actual mileage is - probably 113,644. Body was stripped to bare metal and painted just before we purchased it in 2011. Color is General Motors Lime Poly in PPG Deltron 2000 basecoat and clearcoat. The engine compartment was not repainted and remains in the original Volvo red. There are a few minor chips and one scrape / wrinkle at the bottom rear of the driver's door (see photo). Extensive refurbishment over the last 6 years including:Complete interior replacement with leather seats, new seat webbing, correct square weave carpet, door and side panels, headliner, coco mats, dynamat throughout, new upper and lower dash, instruments rebuilt, new custom seatbelts, McIntosh sound system with CD player, amplifier and 6 speakers. All body rubber and seals replaced. Sun visors are original and are sagging. New wiper arms. Steering wheel is in good condition and has a wheel skin leather cover. New door, trunk, and fuel door lock cylinders with matching key. Separate key for ignition. Viper alarm system. New Hella H4 headlights. New door mirrors and front grill. Bumpers are original in fair condition. New Volvo letters and hood emblem. Windshield replaced. New trunk mat and spare tire cover. Heater system was refurbished with a new water control valve. New gas tank and all new rubber fuel hoses and fuel filler door gasket.Engine work with new main and rod bearings, piston rings, valves lapped, carbs rebuilt, new fuel pump, new electronic ignition distributor, spark plugs and wires, starter and alternator rebuilt. Removed the armored coil and replaced with a Flame Thrower coil. New water pump, thermostat, and thermostat housing, all hoses, new radiator. Also installed an electric fuel pump with a switch for starting. New engine and transmission mounts. Complete new exhaust system with two mufflers. Engine serviced with Brad Penn Grade 1 20W-50.New clutch, pressure plate, throw-out bearing, pilot bearing, and clutch cable. Flywheel resurfaced. Transmission input and output seals replaced. Cleaned overdrive oil screen. Also replaced carrier bearing on drive shaft. Rear differential has a slight leak from the driveshaft seal. Overdrive works as it should.New Superlite 15" wheels with Michelin 205/60R15 tires to include the spare (on steel wheel). Original steel wheels and hubcaps included with auction. Complete brake system rebuild with new rotors, drums, pads, shoes, hardware, master cylinder, slave cylinders, rebuilt calipers, and flexible lines. New sport springs for a slighter lower ride height and new shock absorbers. All tie rod ends and ball joints replaced. Resealed and serviced steering gearbox. New front wheels bearings and seals and rear axle seals. New stabilizer bar rubber bushings.
